Intro: Travel Blog
The rough concept of this blog is Unsettled Living. I, like so many of you, love to travel. But living somewhere is clearly more enlightening than just visiting it for a vacation. My fiance and I are actively planning to move to England this year (probably for several years) and see all the bits of Europe I missed last time round. I want this blog to be my record of that. Until then, I may make some entries about the places I have previously lived (as an adult) for long enough to feel like I'm living there (1 month minimum, I'd say). This would include, roughly in order, Lethbridge, Ichenheim, Martlesham Heath, Dundas, Toronto, Winnipeg, Vancouver, Phoenix, Oceanside, Calgary, and Vancouver again. So 10 cities, 4 countries, 2 continents.
As you can see, I'm not one to "settle down" in one place for too long.
I'd also love this to be a place to share some travel stories. I've visited 14 countries to date, still on only 2 continents (Europe and North America). I've seen a fair bit of Canada and the US, and sampled some of the major European cities when I lived in Germany in my early 20s. I'm also very familiar with the small corner of Suffolk my family are originally from. However, my recent adventures have mostly been in the Caribbean, a whole new experience for me thanks to Steve's initial coaxing! We will celebrate 6 years together in March, and in that time, we've made 7 trips to 3 countries down there. I plan to make some future entries on those, as I have begun to fantasize about living somewhere tropical, perhaps only part-year in retirement; or at the very least as a frequent extended holiday destination.
