Tuesday Travellers: She's Not From Yorkshire

As promised, I'm going to start some other regular weekly posts. Both to give this blog some form, but also to push me to keep posting regularly. Today, I'm instituting "Tuesday Travellers". This will mainly be other expat in the UK blogs that I want to share with you, but could be travel blogs or sites of other kinds.

As my blog is new, I've been looking at other "I just moved to the UK and this is what I'm finding out" blogs, for some inspiration about what to include in mine. There are some awesome blogs out there, so I really want to tell you about some. This first one is super fun, smart and refreshingly honest and incisive about Brits and their peculiarities.

Blog: She's Not From Yorkshire
She's Not From Yorshire blog

About the writer(s): 3 American gals who have fallen in love with British men and are living in Yorkshire (One has now moved back to America with her man).

First post: October, 2008.

Latest post: April, 2013. I hope they haven't completely abandoned the blog as it is a truly enjoyable read.

Niche: The women stay anonymous very intentionally, so they can use the blog as an honest venting place for their British experiences. This makes for some awesome and shockingly delightful takes on Brits from an American perspective. I recommend reading How To Make Friends and Influence People (English Style!) for a very insightful take on not scaring Brits off when you first meet them. I LOL'd. Yep.

Just a Taste: "Venting to a local is dangerous – you’ll almost certainly offend them (at least if you’re doing your bitching right).  But venting to a fellow expat is luxurious – is verbal vicks vapor rub – its pure relief."

Now go read it for yourself, and thank me later. :)
