Wednesday Web Resource: Expat Blog

 expat blog
I certainly haven't explored everything Expat Blog has to offer, but I keep finding myself back there.

The subtitle of the site is "Share Your Expat Experience!". Two features are really key to this mandate: the forums and the blog listings.

Forums
In the England forum, as of writing this, there are 19 posts made in the past week. Not a terribly busy forum, but not terrible. I wouldn't suggest posting Visa questions here (although some do, without much response); For that, I'd instead recommend the site I wrote about last week, expatforum.com, particularly their well-used Britain Expat Forum.

What I would suggest the forum for though is general living in England questions, and looking for other expats of your nationality. Those posts seem to get the most responses.

Blog Listings
As a blogger, interested in other blogs similar to mine, this is my favourite feature by far. There are over 8000 blogs listed on the site, with over 350+ in England. You can search for blogs based on big regions (Europe), countries (England) and even some cities (London). And I really like how you can look at the listings in different ways:
  1. Blogs recently added
  2. Most active
  3. Most liked
  4. Most visited
I also love that each blog description is short but packed with useful info.:
  • A screenshot
  • A brief description
  • The bloggers country of origin and expat country
  • The titles and dates of the last 3 blog posts made
I found several awesome blogs from this listing, and I know theres tons more to discover. I highly recommend checking it out: Blogs from England

Other Features
The Expat Blog site also includes a General Living in England Guide, with a few articles, that may be of some use, but it's not exhaustive, and directories for English businesses.

They also have a facebook page.
